at Guardian Angels Parish

The Young Adults at Guardian Angels regularly attend the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Please join us after Mass in the center aisle for socialization and then brunch afterwards. All are welcome!

Ignatian Spirituality Center

Rise above the chaos and confusion of our modern world by growing closer to God through prayer. The Ignatian Spirituality Center is offering a retreat program called The Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life beginning this fall. Past retreatants say the Spiritual Exercises helped them make sense of where they were going and brought the richness of their own lives into focus. Dear Lord,

Thank you for this summer season.
During this time, may we remember
The gift of the world you have given us.
For awhile each summer of our lives is different.

It is their similarities that bring joyful anticipation.
For You, there is no beginning or end,
And all things are eternal and at one time.
Yet we, who are bound to time,
See and learn all things through beginnings and endings.

As spring ends and summer begins,
May we see Your reflection in this and every summer.
For though You are unchangin g and eternal,
There is always more to discover, experience, and learn.

National Night Out Against Crime

Please mark your calendars to attend this year’s event on August 3 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Parade Park located at Truman and Paseo. Remember that this year’s event is different and all neighborhoods (business and residential) in Kansas City will unite at this location. Everyone is invited to attend, even if you live outside KC or Missouri, so if you have friends or family visiting, don’t hesitate to invite them as we will have static displays of the KCPD helicopter, the Mounted Patrol Unit, the Bomb & Arson Team, Police K-9 Team, the “Roll Over” Seat Belt Vehicle, Crime Prevention Van, and a special display of armored vehicles and equipment from our Tactical Response Teams (SWAT). McGruff the crime dog has also confirmed a visit.

Centering prayer is a deep prayer of trust and surrender involving place, posture, word, and silence. Learn this method and dialogue with others as you practice this prayer together.

Sister Micaela Randolph, OSB, will facilitate this retreat. She is a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica and serves as a staff member of Sophia Center and director of the Souljourners program. A spiritual director and retreat leader. Sister Micaela has her M.A. in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University.
